What is happening at Northwest University today? Has it changed much since I attended there? I think it is safe to say that NU has continued to progress forward. It remains a pristine campus with a deep commitment to the proclamation of the Gospel. In 2009, NU published a new mission statement: "We, the people of Northwest University, carry the call of God by continually building a learning community dedicated to spiritual vitality, academic excellence, and empowered engagement with human need." If you attended NU in the 70's, or anytime for that matter, you are still a part of that mission. The question could be asked, "Do we, who attended NU in the 70's, realistically have any real part to play or anything of value to contribute to the future of NU and its mission?" The answer is a resounding "Yes!" We can still be a God-inspired synergistic force to be reckoned with. We can make a difference on many different fronts.

I wonder what my friends from NU are doing? How are they doing? Most of us, at the very least, have some curiosity concerning the answers to these and other questions when it comes to the classmates that we knew back in the day at NU. At the time of graduation, communication was fairly antiquated compared to modern standards. Staying in touch with friends and acquaintances was difficult. I know from my personal experience, that as plugged-in as I was at NU, my ministry and career took me to a different region of the country and I lost touch with most of my classmates. That all began to change with emerging communications such as email and Social Networks. I enjoy being connected! I like having friends and I want "to be" a friend to others. That is the basic idea behind the development of this website--just another device to "tie" old friends together. |
