Professor William Randolph was an excellent professor at Northwest University. When I think of NU, he is one of the first teachers that comes to mind. He accomplished something that no other science teacher had been able to accomplish in my years of education; he caused me to become curious about all things science. To this day I find myself reading articles pertaining to science.
Professor, and now Dr. Randolph had a knack for bringing Biology and Zoology and other science related subjects to life. I was not overly enthused about stuffing my head full of higher learning--at least as it related to science--until I sat in my first Biology course under Professor Randolph's tutelage. He was witty, entertaining, interesting and made science come to life. Without volunteering for the job the light turned on in my head and I began to learn about God's design and the amazing, complex universe in which I live.
I still remember the day Dr. Randolph talked about the science involved in chemotherapy. He said that more research needed to be done but that the science was solid. When my sister underwent a series of chemotherapy sessions, I had a basic understanding--and it was helpful.
A few years after graduating from NU, Dr. Randolph was the guest speaker at Family Camp for my home church in Idaho Falls. He went into the details of what Jesus endured during the Passion. It certainly changed the way I view the atoning work of Christ when it comes time to take communion.
Through the years I have not have much contact with this fine teacher, other than Facebook, but I have friends who are close friends with the Randolph family and they have nothing but respect and love for the way they have lived their lives. "Bill, thank you for your faithful service and amazing teaching!" Ron Dugone
